Welcome! I am an Assistant Professor of Operations Management of the Lee Kong Chian School of Business (LKCSB) at the Singapore Management University. My research develops stochastic models and controls to enable data-driven, socially responsible operations in healthcare and criminal justice:
- Criminal justice operations: Addressing the complex dynamics of resource-strained criminal justice systems to improve society reintegration outcomes and substance use disorder treatment.
- Healthcare operational efficiency: Tackling operational challenges in day-to-day healthcare operations, such as decision-making under delayed information and strategies to reduce costly task switching.
- Operations-aware AI in healthcare: Incorporating operational considerations into AI system design and facilitating AI adoption in clinical workflows.
Close conversations and collaboration with practitioners are central to my research, ensuring that the models I develop translate into meaningful, implementable solutions.
Before joining SMU, I earned my Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University in 2024, advised by Prof. Nan Kong, Prof. Pengyi Shi, and Prof. Paul M. Griffin. Prior to that, I received my bachelor’s degree in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from Peking University in 2019.
Upcoming Conferences
I will be attending MSOM 2026, the INFORMS Healthcare Conference 2026, and the INFORMS Annual Meeting 2026, and look forward to connecting there!
